Mariana Trusson appointed Chair of the Edinburgh Sustainable Development Partnership Share this article

Mariana Trusson, Associate Director at Cundall’s Edinburgh office, has been appointed Chair of Edinburgh Sustainable Development Partnership (ESDP).

The ESDP is one of the key strategic partnerships in Edinburgh and aims to provide the city and its key stakeholders with strategic, cross-sector leadership on the sustainable development of the city. The ESDP believes that through the development of a new Community Plan structured around the three domains of sustainability, and Edinburgh’s focus on sustainability, there is a great opportunity for the city to assess how the strategic partnerships could work better together to deliver a sustainable Edinburgh.

Mariana, who took up the two-year role at the end of 2017, replacing previous ESDP Chair Cllr Lesley Hinds, is a well-known figure in the property and development sectors in Edinburgh.

Mariana is responsible for Cundall’s sustainability group in Scotland, Ireland and the North of England. As a part of her role, Mariana provides clients with practical advice and solutions which reduce the environmental impact of developments, and provide better spaces for building users and occupiers, as well as for the wider community.

Mariana commented “I am delighted to take up this role to build on our existing relationships with the city, its businesses and communities, and use our knowledge and expertise to help deliver a genuinely sustainable Edinburgh for decades to come. I love Edinburgh, have chosen to make it my home and fully expect it to be an even nicer place to live by 2050.”
