Lee Leston-Jones appointed as a member of Structural Futures Committee for IStructE Share this article

Lee Leston-Jones, Structural Partner, has been appointed as a member of the Structural Futures Committee (SFC) for the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE).

Members of the SFC play an active role in industry developments and form lasting partnerships with relevant organisations and government agencies.

The SFC has the remit to ask questions and formulate responses about the future of structural engineering and the profession, reflecting current and future changes and trends that may impact the profession. In particular, the committee considers how the profession’s approach, skills and knowledge base will need to change in response to an evolving industry.

As part of this remit, the SFC provides direction and oversight of the work of the Research Panel. In addition, the SFC works closely with the Engineering Leadership Group and the Head of Technical Secretariat Services to determine strategic priorities in these areas.

Lee leads Cundall’s Structural Engineering team in Manchester and has successfully delivered a number of high profile national and international projects, and has particular expertise in the delivery of large scale and complex projects.

Lee commented: “It is an honour to be appointed as a member of the SFC and I very much look forward to working with the Institution to positively influence the future direction of the industry”.
