Cundall is delighted to see Hong Kong Science Park win the RICS Hong Kong Awards for the Sustainability Achievement of the Year category. Organised by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the RICS Hong Kong Awards celebrate excellence, professionalism, achievement, and overall contribution to our built environment.
The Science Park has already been awarded the Grand Award at the Hong Kong Green Building Award and is shortlisted for a number of other awards.
Mr Philip Lo, Chair of Jury Panel and Global Board Chairman of Rider Levett Bucknall, said, “The outstanding quality of nominations this year led to an exceptionally fierce competition. Even with stringent judging criteria, nominations show even performance with the champions winning by a small margin. It’s truly a pleasure to witness the excellence and professionalism demonstrated by players of Hong Kong’s built environment.”
The project has the first office building to achieve v2009 LEED Platinum rating in Hong Kong. Cundall as the sustainability and LEED/BEAM consultant has played a significant role in the design and project delivery involved from the concept design through to completion. The winning team included Cundall, Simon Kwan & Associates, Rider Levett Bucknall, Mace, JRP, AECOM and ADI.
Julian Bott, Managing Director, said “The commitment Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and the whole project team has resulted in a project that reduces its own impact on the environment while inspiring others. I am delighted that this has been recognised at another industry award"
