Cundall is pleased to announce another win for the lighting design in the Birmingham office, Cathedral Court. The team won the Low Carbon Project of the Year category at the Lighting Design Awards 2015 on the 19th March.
Cundall’s Birmingham office has recently relocated to prime office space in the heart of Birmingham's central business district. Cundall Light4 has embraced the latest research and guidance in lighting for people, lighting the tasks and providing specific lighting solutions for specific tasks and each area of the office. This has resulted in a connected load of just 6w/m2 with an even more impressive operating load of just under 4w/m2. Click here to read the full project profile.
Andrew Bissell, Director of Light4, commented; “ I am delighted that we have won a prestigious award for an outstanding workplace project. The Cundall Light4 team have not sacrificed design quality to achieve low energy design but instead we have embraced every avenue of health and wellbeing research in the workplace to deliver an extremely innovative and sustainable lighting solution for the Birmingham workplace project. The lighting design minimises energy consumption and recognises the challenges posed by areas with less exposure to sunlight creating a 66% more energy efficient office compared to many standard offices. Congratulations to my team for creating another excellent lighting solution.”
Judges said this project showed low carbon lighting ‘is often about what is left unlit’.
