Cundall is joining the organisers of Cycle to Work Day, Cyclescheme, by encouraging its employees to pledge to cycle to work on Wednesday 14th September 2016. Currently around 3% of people cycle to work and the national campaign aims to encourage everyone to take to two wheels and cycle to work for at least one day.
Last year the event saw tens of thousands of cyclists taking part, resulting in some impressive statistics. Just under half a million miles were pledged, over 1 million employees were represented and 50% of riders took part for the first time - a spectacular result!
This year, Cycle to Work Day is set to be even bigger which is why Cundall are on board and doing their bit for the campaign by supporting staff who cycle into work on the day.
Carole O’Neil, HR Partner, commented; “We have always encouraged our staff to adopt more sustainable ways of travelling to work. We have a lot of regular cyclists within the business, and Cycle to Work Day is a great way of encouraging others to join this growing trend. This year, we are linking this to our “40,000 at 40” campaign and we have pledged to make a donation to each office’s nominated local charity for every mile cycled. All of our offices have high-quality shower facilities, and, as an added incentive, we’re providing a healthy breakfast to those who get on their bikes!”.
