Cundall is delighted to announce the launch of its new volunteering programme; “Inspiring the Next Generation”.
Following the success of our 40,000 volunteering hours campaign last year, this initiative aims to tackle the skill shortage in the construction and engineering industry by encouraging staff to volunteer their time and skills to promote engineering of all disciplines.
Cundall has pledged 700 hours to inspire the next generation of engineers across our 21 global locations. This will include developing existing links with local schools, colleges and creating new ones. The scheme aims to promote engineering in general and increase the understanding of possible careers in the industry.
Gordon Reid, Partner, commented; “This is an exciting new initiative for all our staff around the globe to get involved with and make a difference. We are all too aware of the skill shortage that exists in the engineering industry, alongside the small number of female engineers. We hope that the “Inspiring the Next Generation” campaign will generate more interest and increase the number of people taking STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) topics at higher education, encourage more women into engineering and attract new talent into the industry.”
