Cundall’s award winning Cundall Diploma has seen its inaugural round of graduates. Their journey began in September 2016 and finished with the end of their last module in January 2019.
Over 20 graduates from around the practice attended the ceremonies in London and Hong Kong where they received their diploma certificate followed by a summary presentation from High Achievers in each module. Not only did the graduates feedback that they have a deeper understanding of a broad range of sustainable design topics, but they also learned about successfully working in multidisciplinary teams across different offices.
The Diploma is created in house by specialists and covers a range of topics including Climate Change and the role of Designers, BIM and Sustainability, Energy Efficiency, Pollution Prevention, Embodied Carbon and Health and Wellbeing. The training programme is designed to upskill and empower our staff in all aspects of sustainable design, giving participants the technical knowledge and confidence to challenge conventional thinking.
The CPD accredited Cundall Diploma forms a crucial part of Cundall’s Sustainability Roadmap, One Planet, One Chance, as learning and development was identified as a key enabler to achieve our vision of being ‘agents of change for a sustainable world.’ We are incredibly proud that it has recently gained recognition in the form of the Learning and Development Award at the CIBSE Building Performance Awards this year.
Tomas Neeson, Managing Partner commented ‘The graduation was a really inspirational event, and those who graduated should feel rightly proud of their efforts and commitment to developing into engineers the world needs. Those engineers most receptive to continually developing their skills will be best placed to respond and adapt to the future.’
