The next Cundall UK Graduate Conference is coming up on Friday 24 April. All of our UK graduates will be travelling to York to attend the conference which the HR team organises annually to enable the graduates to network more informally, learn from each other and help develop new skills.
The focus of the conference will be on the power of influence and will involve various interactive sessions throughout the day. Sarah Davis, Chief Executive of Skills4STEM, will be doing a talk on what is influence and why it is important. Skills4STEM Ltd is a global skills and succession planning consultancy delivering training and consultancy services worldwide with a focus on leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. This will be followed by a session by Belinda Morgan, Building Services Partner, on networking skills. There will also be a keynote speech over dinner by Siobhan McMahon-Walsh, Director at Emerald Architects, Building Magazine Woman of the Year Finalist and Chair of the National Association of Women in Construction. The graduates will have the rest of the evening free to have some fun socialising before they head home the next day.
Ahead of the conference, we have asked the graduates to complete a short online personality profiling test, the results of which will be shared on the day. This will help delegates understand their own style and what this means for their approach in communications and influencing.
The conference will focus on encouraging a culture of continuous improvement, thinking beyond engineering and enabling graduates to learn more about a particular skill that is relevant to them at this early stage in their careers, as well as giving them the opportunity to hear views from successful and inspirational speakers in the industry.
