Cundall is continuing to expand its global operations and as a result has hired its largest ever intake of graduate students.Cundall has welcomed 16 graduates spread across its five UK offices in disciplines such as building services, civil and structural engineering.

Carole O’Neil, HR Partner at Cundall explains, “For the graduate intake this year, we wanted to do something different. After the success of having 14 graduates join us last year, we wanted to make it bigger and better than before. We have had a year long process of recruiting and interviewing interested students. We received almost 300 applications for our roles, and our selection process began with some online ability tests. In February, we had an assessment day in Newcastle where 60 shortlisted candidates undertook a day of technical tests, exercises and group work. From there, we identified our 16 successful applicants. By undertaking such a rigorous application process, we can be assured that we have the best candidates from amongst an exceptional group of applicants, and we look forward to seeing them progress as engineers. It was particularly encouraging to note a significant increase in the number of female applicants amongst this year’s candidates and our eventual intake is over 40% female”.
Graduate recruitment activities have already started for next year’s intake, with applications open as of 1 October. Cundall will be attending graduate fairs at universities, including Newcastle, Edinburgh Napier, Southampton, Sheffield, Birmingham and Loughborough during October and November.
In addition to graduate engineers, Cundall is currently recruiting for experienced engineers as their workload continues to increase. For more information on joining Cundall, go to http://www.cundall.com/Careers/Careers.aspx.
