Amie Shuttleworth, Global Director of Sustainability, recently shared her views on climate change and net carbon emission through an article published in ‘Britain in Hong Kong’ magazine, March – April issue. Amie’s article addresses the urgency and importance of climate change, and why is it necessary to reduce net carbon emission to zero by 2050 in order to slow down the risk and implications of global climate change.
Zero Carbon is one of the six impacts that Cundall has identified as areas we can have the maximum impact. Those impacts are identified by using the One Planet Living Principles and UN SDG Framework. We are implanting these impacts in our projects, homes and communities, workplace and through industry leadership to make a positive difference to the planet.
We are also one of the founding signatories for Net Zero Carbon Building Commitment led by the World Green Building Council (WorldGB). We are committed to evaluate our current energy use and associated emission across our portfolios; identify opportunities to reduce energy wastage and improve energy efficiency; power buildings from renewable energy sources; report on progress against decarbonization targets; advocate through our operations to eliminate carbon emissions; and become enablers to radically transform the wider supply chain.
‘Britain in Hong Kong’ is a bi-monthly magazine published by The British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (BritCham). This publication has a readership of approximately 15,000 and gets circulated to BritCham members both in Hong Kong and the overseas.
