Guest Speaker: WiBSE Role Model Series, Edinburgh, 10 March 2015

Mariana Trusson, Senior Associate, spoke at the WiBSE event on 10 March as part of Scotland's Role Model Series.

These quarterly networking events feature inspirational women giving talks to engineers on a wide variety of topics.  The WiBSE Network aims to support and encourage women joining, working, staying and progressing in the building services industry. The WiBSE Role Model Series is open to anyone.

During her talk, Mariana discussed she became and engineer and why she loves it enough to stay. Mariana was inspired to be an engineer by her grandfather who was a first officer and mechanic in the navy. She chose building services and energy efficiency from the get-go because she believes that these exciting sectors have immense room for improvement and innovation.

Mariana is currently a Senior Associate and the main contact for Cundall's sustainability group in Scotland and the North East. She is a Chartered Engineer, a co-opted member of CIBSE Council and co-ordinates WiBSE Scotland. She has worked in a number of different companies in the past from very small consultancy practices to international, multi discipline engineering giants, she also ran her own successful company for a number of years.
