Webinar: Walking Tall: Viability analysis of tall residential development in Birmingham, 10 June 2020

The Birmingham residential marketplace is on the path of considerable change with the skyline set to evolve dramatically over the next few years. Tall buildings play a key role in cities, acting as way finders, allowing density to increase and encouraging evolution in the experience of city centre life. However, their delivery is complex with numerous challenges to be overcome if an efficient building is to be delivered.

This webinar will explore the constraints of planning, the impact of land values, the potential sales / rental revenues and the economics of design that assist the optimisation of build costs. Together the panel, consisting of Core Five, Glenn Howells Architects, Knight Frank and Turley alongside Cundall, will discuss the steps that should be taken to ensure that developments are given the best chance of Walking Tall.

Building Services Engineering Partner, Robert van Zyl will present the key considerations when designing building services and vertical transportation. Structural Engineering Associate Director, Alex Carter will discuss the complexities of structural design on tall buildings.
