For the third year running, Cundall celebrated World Green Building Week (WGBW) hosting 10 workshops across the world.
We reviewed the individual topic on 'The Future of Green Buildings' being discussed in each of the other locations and a more detailed discussion on 'Plants not Plant' followed.
The Future of Green Buildings - Plants not Plant
Is it reasonable to consider energy displaced by plants as renewable energy?
The benefits of greening buildings and cities using plants and landscaping is generally known and accepted. Cundall has completed an in-house experiment to quantify the positive impact of plants in and on buildings.
In this workshop, we identified the improvements to internal air quality and temperatures, reducing the need for mechanical systems. The resulting CO2 emission reduction was highlighted, as will any impact on GLA targets.
