Cundall is riding The Sandstone Way on 5-6 June 2015 to raise funds for St Owald's Hospice. The Sandstone Way is England’s first long distance mountain bike trail (193km) stretching from Berwick upon Tweed to Hexham in the Tyne Valley. The off-road journey will take two days, and includes an overnight stop in Rothbury.
St Oswald’s Hospice provides specialist palative care to children, young people and adults from the North-East of England. The money raised will go to fund specialist beds for the Children and Young Adult's service.
St Oswald's treats approximately 2,000 patients a year, with annual running costs exceeding £11m. Of this, over £7m must be raised through voluntary giving. No charge is made for the services provided, ensuring hospice care is available to all.
