Seminar: WELL in the UK, London, 6 December 2017

With the recent arrival of the global WELL building standard from the USA and the ever increasing focus on health and wellness, the UK property industry is responding to the rapidly changing landscape.

In this seminar Alan Fogarty, Sustainability Partner will speak about the importance and benefits of designing buildings with health and wellbeing in mind. He will describe Cundall’s experience of delivering the first project in Europe to achieve WELL Certification as well as the response from staff in post occupancy evaluation surveys and impact on absenteeism.

Stephen Marks, Partner at Trowers & Hamlins, will give an overview of the WELL metric, present a case for future-proofing buildings even now and share insights into how to negotiate landlord and tenant relationships in this area. Stephen will also look at current strategies and the latest research attempting to show that healthy buildings can actually result in an enhanced value for investors and developers.

Anita Mitchell, Head of Sustainability for Europe at Lendlease will then give a developer's perspective and demonstrate how Lendlease have worked with the WELL metric on international projects and current UK projects.

This event is held in partnership with Trowers & Hamlins.
