Seminar: Adapting to Climate Change in Hong Kong, Hong Kong, 6 December 2018

In the shadows of Typhoon Manghkhut and release of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Report, what does the future of climate change look like?

With growing scientific opinion that an increase of 1.5°C in the average global temperature is no longer achievable, and that we are on track for 3°C, what can we do to avoid this?

With an increasing demand on our buildings and infrastructure, what can we do to adapt to our new climate?

Andrew Marks, Director of the Hong Kong office, and Amie Shuttleworth, Global Director of Sustainability, will be speaking at the Adapting to Climate Change in Hong Kong lunch seminar taking place on the 6 December 2018. This event is co-organised by Cundall, The British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and New World Development Company Limited.

Cundall is recognised as a leader in sustainability across the world. Our Sustainability Roadmap has always been our guidance through the business. Climate adaptation is identified as one of the six listed impacts in the roadmap, which is considered significant to our established corporate objectives.

During the seminar, we will be sharing our research on climate change scenarios and discussing approaches to mitigate the associated impacts on urban planning and developments.

With our experience in designing buildings and infrastructure that are resilient and responsive to climate change, Andrew and Amie are going to provide an overview of what Cundall is doing to minimise our own impact, and the impact of our projects through the lens of different disciplines and share the outcome of our recent research on this subject.

Date: Thursday 6 December 2018
Time: 12:30 – 14:00
Venue: 6/F, The British Consulate-General, 1 Supreme Court Road, Admiralty, Hong Kong
