Refurbishment and Re-lifing Technologies and Solutions, A Consultants Perspective
By Caimin McCabe
Caimin McCabe of Cundall will provide a consultant’s perspective on the wide range of technologies and approaches being used to improve the environmental, operational and indoor environmental quality of existing buildings. Using a combination of case study examples, technical material overviews and design approaches, the presentation will provide an introduction to latest technologies and solutions being adopted, as well as some of the ‘older’ technological approaches that still have their place. The technologies will cover façade treatments, passive design solutions and engineering services systems being used, as well as an introduction to the issue of ‘right sizing’ and the role of behavioural change in achieving real outcomes.

Project Case Study: A 40 Story Office Tower in Melbourne: A Business Case for Refurbishment
By Ryan Lee
The environment, operational and comfort performance of this office tower in Melbourne has and is being greatly enhanced through a range of refurbishment works. Cundall in association with the Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) Engineering Operations Solutions (EOS) team will explain the improvement process they adopted for this existing 40 storey office tower. In addition to providing detail on the initiatives and strategies adopted, and their associated beneficial impact, the presentation will also provide insight into the decision making process as well as the whole-of-life assessment process to develop a business case for refurbishment. This will be followed by an interactive session with delegates to discuss and examine the client, operational and technical drivers to achieving success.
