MBC Seminar: Does Smart Working Work?, London, 24 March 2015

Chris Grundy, IT and audio visual Director, spoke at MBC seminar, Does Smart Working work?

Smart Working takes in the key disciplines of HR, property and technology. By enabling people to work more flexibly and on the go, Smart Working can help colleagues to work more productively and better balance their work and home lives, bringing benefits through increased efficiency, productivity and cost savings, even reduced carbon emissions. After setting the scene detailing current Smart Working trends, attendees will hear the speakers’ experiences from a range of sectors including Harmsen Tilney Shane, commercial interior design consultants; Robin Partington & Partners, the national practice of architects and designers; and Cundall, the international engineering, design and sustainability consultancy.

Chris Grundy put Cundall’s experience forward highlighting what we have done as a business to ‘work smarter.’ The main focus of his presentation was on our investment in technology that provides connectivity enabling anyone at Cundall from anywhere around the world to call, share documents and video conference with only a few clicks of mouse. Chris explained the journey that Cundall has gone through to achieve this. It has taken us a few years to implement but it is now ingrained so much that we are looking at ‘federating’ with our own clients, comments Chris. Federating is effectively enabling Cundall and certain clients to join communication systems. He concluded with a case study of Pernod Ricard
