Guest Speakers: ecobuild, London, 6-8 March 2018

Alan Fogarty, Sustainability Partner; Simon Wyatt, Partner; and Kavita Kumari, Principal Engineer will all be joining the discussions at ecobuild this year, which will take place from the 6-8 March 2018 at the ExCeL Exhibition and Conference Centre in London.

ecobuild in 2018 is shaped around the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, New Urban Agenda and Paris Agreement. The topics that will be covered include housing, air quality, behaviour change, the urgency of tackling resources, and compiling a sustainability report for the UK.

Session: Biophilic design – integrating nature into our workplaces

Alan Fogarty, Partner, will present with a focus on the implementation of plants in office, both in the Cundall London and Birmingham offices, and also in public spaces like Gatwick Airport. Alan will discuss how plants can be integrated into a space to reduce cooling loads, improve air quality and staff wellbeing.

Session: Construction leadership and a vision for the future – ideas from young professionals

Kavita Kumari, Principal Engineer, will be part of the debate on key conversations from the past year including skills gaps, retention of professionals in London and other cities (housing costs vs typical salaries in the construction industry), attitudes to housing quality and building performance.
