Guest Speaker: Healthcare Construction Network, London, 13 April 2017

Andrew Bissell, Director of Light4, will be speaking at the HCN, Healthcare Construction Network Breakfast in London on Thursday 13 April.

A panel of experts; Ellen Harrison of WSP, Andrew Bissell of Cundall and Pete Hender of Elementa, will talk about acoustics, lighting, ventilation and their effects on WELL being.

Andrew will discuss about the lighting aspect. Andrew has been involved in a European Union healthcare procurement initiative which aims to bring to market more innovative products and solutions in the field of future ward lighting and ultra-efficient lighting and controls. He is involved in updating the Society of Lighting and Lighting guides including LG2 ‘Lighting for Healthcare’ and LG5 ‘Lighting for Education’.

Effective acoustic design brings benefits regarding patient and staff comfort and morale, as well as improved efficiency and usability of equipment. Good ventilation affects our rate of recovery and cognitive function, whereas the quality of light not only impacts on the appearance of a space but also the potential to improve the health and wellbeing of patients and staff.

Come and join our expert panel as we discuss how good acoustic, lighting and ventilation design:

  • Improves patient privacy & dignity
  • Promotes essential sleep patterns
  • Reduces intake of pain medication
  • Improves communication
  • Lowers stress levels
  • Aids recovery
