Alan Fogarty, Sustainability Partner, will be speaking at the Build2Perform Live on 22 November 2017 at London’s Olympia.
Build2Perform Live is the most significant two-day interactive event dedicated to helping built environment professionals and the wider supply chain improve efficiency and save money through effective building services.
Alan and a guest speaker will discuss air quality and what can building services engineers do to improve it.
Session details
Date: 22 November 2017
Time: 10.45 - 11.30
Subject: WC2 - Air quality: what can building services engineers do to improve air quality?
Venue: Olympia London, Hammersmith Road, Kensington, W14 8UX
There is a balancing act to achieve good low carbon, energy efficient, air tight buildings without reducing indoor air quality. This session provides building services engineers with some insight into proven strategies for maintaining air quality in buildings.
The roles engineers play in the air pollution crisis: designing pathways, accumulation and sources of air pollution
- Pathways: the way a building is ventilated, designs a pathway for air pollution to enter the building
- Accumulation: the air tightness of the building and the ventilation rates allow air pollutants to accumulate
- Sources: the inclusion of CHP, boilers and any other combustion plant designs a source of air pollution
