Event: London Plan 2019 update, London, 7 March 2019

The new London Plan comes in force this year, with the first changes already being implemented as of January the 1st and with the full plan likely to be published in Q3. These changes are already starting to have drastic consequences on new developments.

Join Cundall on the 7th of March to discuss the key changes and milestones.

Simon Wyatt, Sustainability Partner, will delve into the key impacts of GLA’s climate change plans. This includes the move from on-site combustion to electric heat pump technologies, a requirement for whole life cycle assessment including embodied carbon, and extending the carbon tax to cover non-residential development whilst increasing the payment rates.

Mark Chapman, Director of Air Quality, will outline the implications of the new Air Quality requirements. He will focus on the change in emphasis from ‘air quality neutral’ developments to ‘air quality positive’.

Neil McAlpine, Director of Transportation, will set out the GLA’s vision for London’s transport network for 2030 and beyond. The changes will have an impact on the focus of future developments and their interaction with the urban form as well as having significant impacts on transport related energy requirements.
