Overheating causes major issues in residential dwellings. Several new developments have reached internal air temperatures in excess of 30°C. In extreme cases, temperatures of over 40°C are experienced. With the impact of climate change starting to be felt around the world, these conditions are likely to be more common.
Join Cundall to discuss the benefit of co-ordinated design and how we can mitigate overheating as temperature rises.
Simon Wyatt, Sustainability Partner will present an overview of the issue and outline the causes of overheating in new residential developments. Then Rob Turner, Acoustics Principal Acoustic Consultant, will discuss the potential noise impacts and the mitigation measures. Finally Glyn Hodgkiss, Principal Air Quality Consultant, will cover why summer periods lead to more pollution and the associated timeframes.
New and existing residential developments are already struggling to provide comfortable environments for their occupants. We must act now to make sure all new developments are able to provide comfortable environments now and, in the future, in the face of rising global temperatures.
