Event: Coworking - Evolution of the workplace, Newcastle, 16 October 2019

Coworking refers to a shared workplace and with society looking more flexibility in all areas of life – streaming vs downloading films; leasing cars vs buying them, it’s no wonder that the workplace sector has followed suit. Coworking spaces offer occupants (or ‘members’ as the preferred term) flexible contracts which are ideal for start-ups but also for established companies looking to expand into new areas without the commitment of a 5, 10 or even 20-year office lease.

Coworking spaces provide more than a desk or traditional office environment. A coworking space is centred around collaboration of likeminded professionals in which to share knowledge and network. Facilities to support this include meetings rooms, breakout areas, tea points, restaurants, wellness spaces and in some cases even TV studios and radio stations to make sure they provide the necessary facilities for their ‘members’.

Mike Gosling and Adam Cooke will be speaking at our breakfast seminar in Newcastle and will discuss the key technical challenges when designing coworking spaces and how we need to change our design to meet coworking clients’ often challenging specifications.

Within Cundall we’ve worked for coworking providers such as WeWork, FORA and Storey, which will continue to grow as coworking becomes more and more widespread across the UK and world.

Date: Wednesday 16 October
Time: 8:00 -10:00
Venue: Tyneside Cinema, 10 Pilgrim St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 6QG
