Simon Wild will be speaking at the Inaugural Defence Housing Australia Summit at Canberra on the 11th of September.
The 2014 summit will have a theme and focus on ‘Supporting the defence community with an accommodating housing model’ and will examine: the current management of the defence property portfolio, Australian housing economics, effective procurement modelling, community and family engagement with defence, efficient logistics co-ordination and the future of defence housing in Australia. The event will hear from the senior leadership team from the DHA, construction and engineering contractors and senior defence officials.
Simon will be presenting "Innovation at DHA - creating sustainable and resilient business solutions". This presentation will provide a summary of the work that DHA have undertaken as part of the 10 year innovation strategy programme. The innovation strategy focuses five key tenants of future housing for DHA - Denser, Integrated, Smarter, Closer and Optimised which has become known as the DISCO strategy. Each of the key tenants will be outlined within the presentation together with financial, social and ecological benefits of the overall strategy. The innovation strategy is currently underway and a brief status will be provided at the end of the presentation.
