First launched in 2013, the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Hong Kong Green Building Council co-organised Hong Kong Green Building Week (HKGBW) from the 13 September to 3 October 2018. The event aimed to raise public awareness of green building movement and sustainable lifestyle.
Cundall participated as one of the supporting organisations for the week’s event - Biz-Green Dress Day on 20 September. This activity engaged business communities to adopt a greener lifestyle in their workplace. At Cundall, staff are encouraged to follow the Biz-Green dress code and help save energy through minimising air conditioning consumption in the office. As part of our office fit-out, we aim to optimise thermal comfort and reduce electricity consumption by installing PVC-free blinds against the windows and using efficient lighting with occupancy-detection and daylight-dimming controls.
During HKGBW 2018, Cundall also spoke at Ignite on the 3 October. Jonathan Yau, Associate Director, talked about productivity mapping by identifying the importance of Indoor Environment Quality monitoring and introducing how sustainable and healthy designs facilitate the creation of innovative and successful operating built environments.
