Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Sarah and I am an IT and AV Senior Engineer and have a BEng degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey.
What or who inspired you to be an engineer?
I have always been passionate about music, media and technology, becoming an Audiovisual Engineer was my way of doing what I love.
What made you decide to join Cundall?
I joined Cundall in 2014, mainly because it was a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy. As an engineer, you often get involved in projects with different specialities and it’s great to have most engineering disciplines in the same office who can offer support and advice.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Cundall has given me plenty of trust and support to broaden my knowledge. Within 6 months, I was already leading design and responsible for my own projects.
What are you most proud of in your career to-date?
The projects I work on range from small video wall installations, to large auditoriums and stadiums, the variety of projects is what maintains my enthusiasm. My role within the team is very dynamic, I often go on site visits to monitor and witness the completed system, which is always the most rewarding part.
Tell us the most interesting thing you have learnt or experienced in your time at Cundall
The most interesting thing I have learnt in my time at Cundall is the importance of sustainability in our business, projects and community. Monitoring and reducing the environmental impact of the systems we design has become a second nature, which makes us actively involved in shaping the built environment for the future.
