Rebekah Phillips

Newcastle, United Kingdom

Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Rebekah Phillips and I am a Structural Engineer.

What or who inspired you to be an engineer?
My grandfather was a Civil Engineer.

What made you decide to join Cundall?
I wanted to join a company that considered the sustainability of projects and I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in the office when I visited.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
That every day is different, with new challenges and opportunities.

What are you most proud of in your career to-date?
We were faced with an unusual problem on site and I designed a very specific piece of steelwork to solve the issue. Seeing it go from a concept in my head to seeing it in real life was very satisfying.

Tell us the most interesting thing you have learnt or experienced in your time at Cundall
During my time doing the Cundall Diploma, we faced some really interesting questions and challenges that made me think about the way I live my life and how I design in my own career.
