Who are you and what do you do?
I am a chartered engineer and have been working in building services engineering for over 15 years in consultancy, facilities management and even contractor fields. I joined Cundall in 2010 as a senior engineer of the dynamic building services team in Hong Kong.
What or who inspired you to be an engineer?
I think there is an ‘engineering corner’ inside every boy and I just followed it naturally to become an engineer. And it is such a wonderful process to see, touch and feel your works, turning out from a blank paper to something physically standing in front of you.
What made you decide to join Cundall?
I like the size of the company and how everyone in the office works as a team. It is a real international multi-disciplined company where you can pick up the phone and call the experts in other offices for help when you need it.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
As an Associate, I am not only enjoying solving technical issues with my engineers but also just interacting with people in the project team. Effective communication is crucial to the success of our projects, especially when you have international projects that involve team members from around the world.
What are you most proud of in your career to-date?
My ‘can-do’ spirit. In one of the most fast paced cities, projects always come with very aggressive programmes. This is often even more challenging when budget and quality come into consideration, however, there is always a way to get it done when you have a positive mind set.
