Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Nik Jones. I am based in Birmingham and my role is Associate Electrical Engineer. I take the lead on a lot of projects from education, offices, residential and healthcare.
What or who inspired you to be an engineer?
I wanted to be an audio engineer in a recording studio so studied music technology as I was fascinated by synthesisers and how music was recorded. I have always had an interest in electronics and electronic musical instruments so I got into electrical and electronic engineering within a semiconductor manufacturer. I enjoy design so followed a career into electrical design which then developed into becoming a consultant engineer. I still do the music technology... as a hobby!
