My career in engineering was inspired at a young age by working with my Dad and Grandad, solving problems with practical solutions and using whatever materials were available. I was very eager to learn, so I completed a part-time engineering degree in Building and Environmental Engineering, enabling me to gain real life experience while studying. This evolved into a passion for innovative and sustainable design. Since joining Cundall in 1994, I have been proud to contribute internally to many business initiatives and externally to the development of design standards and green building regulations in the Middle East.
Collaboration
I am a firm believer that success is achieved through teamwork and collaboration. Several projects I have been involved with have been award-winning and for a variety of reasons, but mainly because the whole project team collaborated and were passionate about the outcome. I have always considered myself to be a holistic designer, challenging convention and refusing to be constrained by my engineering discipline.
Creativity
Inspired by the Cundall values, curiosity and creativity have driven me throughout my career. The ability to create successful outcomes for our clients while safeguarding the future of our planet is the foundation of Cundall and constantly inspires me. This is demonstrated by our American University of Sharjah Campus Service Centre project, which won MENA Green Building of the Year through tangible real-life performance and value creation for our client.
