Julian Bott

I started my career as a building services mechanical engineer, working on complex commercial, retail and data centre projects. I developed a keen interest in energy efficiency and joined Cundall in 2005 as an early pioneer of ESD in Australia. I set up our Hong Kong office in 2008, where I stayed until 2016. Now based in Sydney, I am applying my deep understanding of the technical aspects of sustainable design and building services engineering in supporting the growth of our Building Performance Services specialism, helping existing buildings to transition to all-electric, energy-efficient, net zero operations.

Working across such a broad range of projects with clients passionate about sustainability is a great way to implement a creative approach to design and engineering. So much is about considering the interactions of site, location, building design and engineering that goes beyond any single discipline.

The rewarding part of what we do is collaborating with our clients and external partners to drive change in the way we think about and deliver the built environment. Having a talented global team of knowledge and experience to draw upon also helps find solutions we know will work.
