Jim joined Cundall in September 2008 and is now the lead in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental consultancy services. He oversees the management and development of the firm’s geotechnical department, which provides an advisory and design service in all aspects of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering.
Jim is a commercially aware geoenvironmental specialist and has extensive experience in the fields of geoenvironmental engineering and engineering geology, as well as contract preparation and project management / administration. He has particular expertise in Phase I and II site investigations and the development and management of remediation schemes for (often heavily industrialised) brownfield sites. In addition, Jim has undertaken and managed detailed quantitative risk assessments (DQRAs), both for human health and controlled waters, as well as undertaking numerous environmental assessments of landfill sites and assisting with surrender of landfill licences. He also has extensive experience of value engineering and due diligence reviews for high value (multi £m) highways schemes and PFI projects and has extensive experience in mining and soluble ground risk assessments and mitigation.
