Ian is an experienced chartered town planner who joined Cundall in 2007 to further develop the town planning consultancy service. He now leads on a range of projects that require town planning or environmental impact assessment skills.
He brings a wealth of experience gained over 20 years across the field of town planning, covering feasibility, strategic planning and development management, with expertise on a number of types of developments. In particular, he has been involved with a number of mixed use regeneration schemes and significant residential, education and leisure projects and has extensive experience of successfully promoting developments in very sensitive locations involving World Heritage Sites, Listed Buildings, Scheduled Monuments and ecologically sensitive areas.
He is well respected within the profession, having formerly been a regional chairman of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). He has also acted as a judge for RTPI Awards in the North East of England for a number of years and remains an active member of regional committees.
