For over 30 years David has gained considerable experience in major civil and structural schemes in the UK and overseas. Initially with a local authority, he then spent a 15-year period in bridge, water, structural and civil engineering with a west London consultant. Subsequently, with a central London structural consultancy, he was responsible for managing the design of major residential, retail, leisure, commercial and mixed-use projects.
David joined Cundall in 2003 and, as a Senior Associate, has managed a wide variety of schemes across all sectors, including new-build and refurbishment works ranging from under £10 million to over £100 million. David has extensive residential experience, having worked on prime estate developments, high-rise and office, to residential conversion schemes for house builders and individual developers and has been leading Cundall’s residential sector since 2011.
The vast majority of David’s schemes have been built and he has seen them through from initial conception through to their completion. David enjoys the engineering challenges presented on projects and working with clients and design team members to deliver successful projects. Recent built schemes include two high profile data centre projects; one low rise and large on plan, the other high rise and small on plan!
Outside of work, David enjoys time with his family, playing golf, visiting historical buildings and gardens as well as other high profile buildings in central London. Whilst on his holidays, David is inspired by the engineering and architecture of ancient civilisations as well as the buildings and cultures of other countries.
