David Collins

Since joining Cundall in 2007 I have worked in Sydney and Singapore and now lead the Brisbane Office. I'm passionate about maximising building performance through passive design, energy-efficiency, on-site renewable energy, water efficiency and efficient use of materials. I am a GBCA Accredited Professional, NABERS Accredited Assessor and CBD Accredited Assessor with extensive experience in portfolio-scale asset upgrades and delivering ESD services from initial design through to commissioning for major new build projects.

Many of my projects have involved forming strong and collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders and construction teams. My starting point is always understanding what the client is aiming to achieve, and then finding the most effective way to get there. I get enormous satisfaction from sharing my sustainability knowledge and extending this to construction teams so they can take those insights to future projects.

Working in this industry, trustworthiness, and attention to every detail is essential. It's a satisfying process to optimise building performance in terms of energy efficiency and resource efficiency while balancing the different requirements of each project. This is the approach I take to any project – achieve the most value in the outcome with the lowest environmental impact.
