David works proactively with project teams to ensure buildings are built to high energy efficiency and environmental standards. He has over 20 years' experience in building design, and embraces a multi-disciplinary approach - being chartered in both structural engineering and building services engineering.

He was the principal author of the first Green Star rating tool in Australia. Joining Cundall in 2004, David helped to establish the Melbourne office and in 2008 was named Sustainability Champion of the Year at the UK Building Services Sustainability Awards. He returned to the UK in 2009 to enhance and expand Cundall's global sustainability services and in 2012 Cundall became the first consultant to be endorsed by BioRegional as a One Planet Company. In 2014 David returned to Australia to lead Sydney office.

David is a member of the British Council for Offices (BCO) Sustainability Group, the Institution of Structural Engineers Sustainable Construction Panel. BRE Global's Standing Panel of Experts and is European Ambassador for the Green Building Council of Australia. He regularly presents at international conferences and seminars and is the author of the book 'What Colour is Your Building?' published by RIBA Publishing.

David enjoys playing guitar, hiking, canoeing and supporting Macclesfield Town FC.
